AFRICOM CONTINUES AGGRESSION AND MANEUVERES ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT

On the same day, September 30, that two U.S. Muslim citizens were assassinated in Yemen by the Pentagon-Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) drones, it was announced that 21 Somalians were also killed in similar military actions that resulted in one of these unmanned weapons being downed over Kismayo in this Horn of Africa nation. The drone attacks in southern Somalia resulted in many people being forced to flee the Qooqani and Taabto districts.

Somalia is among at least six countries where the U.S. has carried out drone attacks that have resulted in the deaths of many civilians. These aerial strikes also take place on a regular basis in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq and Yemen (Press TV, September 30).

Although the White House and the Pentagon claims that the strikes target those individuals and organizations labeled as “terrorists” by the State Department, in most instances the people most adversely affected by the attacks are people who are not armed and constitute no direct threat to the U.S. government and its allies.

On October 4, the Al-Shabaab Islamic resistance movement in Somalia claimed responsibility for the bombing of the Ministry of Education that resulted in the deaths of over 50 people. The U.S. has targeted Al-Shabaab as a threat to Washington’s interests in Somalia and throughout the region.

THE SHADOWS OF POWER

The Shadows of Power: The Council on Foreign Relations and the American Decline by James Perloff is a well researched book on who controls the United States government which he refers to as the Establishment. The book has been published by Western Islands Publishing.

The “Establishment” is made up of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), formed on 29 July 1921 and its sister organisation, the Trilateral Commission (TC) formed in 1973 and includes members from America, Europe and Japan. The CFR includes many prominent persons in business, government, law, and the mass media that are from the United States of America and headquartered in the elegant Harold Pratt House in New York City. The TC consisted of leaders in business, banking, government and mass media from North America, Western Europe and Japan.

THE FOXES AND THE WOLVES OF THE 21ST CENTURY

“The wolf and the fox are both enemies of humanity; both are canine; both humiliate and mutilate their victims. Both have the same objectives, but differ only in methods.” – Malcolm X (el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz, Addis Ababa, July 17, 1964

The single most deadly calamity to have befallen black people throughout the globe in this 21st century can be found in the person of Barack Obama, that rhetorical and deadly fox in sheep’s clothing. Indeed, humanity as a whole is the unsuspecting prey of this current black-faced head of the bloody, avaricious, corporate U.S. Empire.

Long before the devastating physical earthquake struck the tiny black nation Haiti, the debilitating earthquake of slavery, colonization, and revised 21st century neo-colonization was unleashed upon the peoples of Haiti (and the world wide African Diaspora) by the United States, France, Canada, and its additional concomitant partners in deceit, greed, and economic, political, and social / cultural subjugation. It is this ongoing earthquake which we must forthrightly and uncompromisingly also address. It is this ongoing earthquake that is shattering the very psychological, physical, and political existence of black people around the world.

In less than a historical heart beat the very meaning of the word blackness has been distorted into definitively supporting the economic greed and bloodlust of the 1%of humankind that exploits the needs, hopes, and human rights of the rest of humanity. Nothing could be more despicable or dangerous to this planet collectively and black people in particular.

The gym where I work out has several television screens tuned to a variety of stations. I went to the gym early on Friday because I had a full day of activities: a memorial service later that morning, I had to get back home to finish packing and head to Cheyney University for Homecoming Weekend. I was amused when I saw on the television monitor tuned to CNN that Barack Obama had been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize! I have always wondered what the criteria was for one to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
